Volunteers needed for study of muscular performance and the period cycle

Monday, April 3rd, 2023

We are doing an anonymous study about muscular performance and the period cycle, because we want to know if muscular performance changes over the course of the menstrual cycle. If you get your period between now and the 10th of April we would love for you to be a part of our study.

You will be asked to do three tests – a bench press, leg press, and push-ups (you can choose to do it from your knees or toes). There will be at least two sessions (no more than three). A session will take about 45 minutes, and we will coordinate with you to find the right time to do the tests.

You do not need to be an athlete or a super fit person because we are looking at the changes over the course of your period. It’s OK if you are not familiar with the gym or exercises because we will be there with you to walk you through them and answer your questions.

We accept anyone who menstruates (if you are taking hormonal contraceptives, you can still participate.)

If you are willing to participate, please contact Val Gabriychuk at gabriychukv19@georgefox.edu or Sarah Julian at sjulian19@georgefox.edu.
