Join library’s workshop, ‘Research Beyond the Databases,’ tomorrow

Sunday, March 7th, 2021

Academic research articles are great, but there are a lot of other things out there that can help you with your research project too! Join librarian Jenny Bruxvoort to learn more about using books, background sources, and high-quality information available outside of the library in your research.

The workshop will be held via Zoom at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday). Register for this workshop and others at this link.

This semester, the library is offering a series of workshops to help the Fox community navigate our increasingly digital library environment. Reminders on how to use Hadlock’s facilities

Thursday, March 4th, 2021

The Hadlock Student Center is open and expanding capacities! However, there is a new reservation system in place for using all areas of the facility.

Prior to arriving, you must reserve the area that you would like to use using IM Leagues on your computer or smartphone. To use IM Leagues, you must create an account using your George Fox email and select “George Fox University” on the application.

Once you log in, you will be able to choose the area of the facility you want to use and the time which you would like to use it. You are allowed to reserve two 30-minute slots per area, per day. Most people choose to reserve the slots back-to-back so that they have a full 60 minutes for a workout or activity.

Register using IM Leagues here

IM Leagues is the same application that we use for intramural sports, group fitness classes, and other programs. You can use this to reserve and register for all things related to the Hadlock Student Center!

Reminders:

  • Please keep in mind that masks covering the nose and mouth are required at all times in the facility.
  • Employee spouses and dependents are also not allowed at this time, with the exception of intramural sports.
  • All patrons are asked to sanitize their equipment afterwards using gym wipes located on either end of the fitness center.
  • Please give other patrons space in the gym so that everyone is comfortable working out and using the Hadlock Student Center.
  • If you need to cancel a reservation, please do so at least one hour in advance. It is very important to cancel reservations if you cannot attend the session because it may be taking a place away from someone that would otherwise be able to use it.
  • If any patron misses six or more sessions, they will be placed on a seven-day suspension.

Questions? Contact AJ Heil (aheil@georgefox.edu).

Don’t forget to sign up for intramural sports

Thursday, March 4th, 2021

Interested in playing volleyball, pickleball, or badminton? Registration for these leagues closes this Saturday, March 6, at 11:59 p.m.

Make sure to create a team before this deadline. You can add additional players to your roster after the deadline, but you cannot create a team after March 6.

Intramural sports are open to all undergraduate students, graduate students, employees, and employee spouses. Leagues run from Monday, March 8, through Thursday, April 22.

For more details and to register, please click here. Questions? Contact AJ Heil (aheil@georgefox.edu).
