Swing by Hadlock for tonight’s championship volleyball match

Campus Recreation invites you to come watch the 6-on-6 volleyball intramural championship game at the Hadlock Student Center at 8 p.m. tonight (Thursday)!

We will have an announcer and will be hyping up the game for others to get involved with and enjoy as spectators! Come early to grab a seat or a spot to watch.

Please keep in mind that properly worn face masks are required, and physical distancing between you and others of at least six feet must be maintained at all time. Please do not come if you are sick or experiencing signs and symptoms that could be related to sickness.

Come say farewell to Jenny Elsey on April 28

Please come to an open house on Wednesday, April 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Intercultural Resource Center on East Sheridan Street.

You are welcome to bring a card, but we will have some artistic options for people to participate in to share their care for Jenny.

Help clean up the canyon for Earth Day tomorrow

Campus Recreation invites you to participate in a campus and canyon cleanup on Earth Day, Thursday, April 22! The cleanup will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. We will be picking up litter throughout campus and the canyon, not doing other forms of manual labor or landscaping.

Please fill out this form if you would like to help out. Campus Recreation will provide gloves, supplies and instructions for the event.

Be aware of email scam targeting students

Please be aware of an email scam that is currently circulating. This scam is primarily directed to students and claims to offer money in exchange for posting advertisements on their cars. The Federal Trade Commission has details of the scam on their website.

Join in this Saturday’s whitewater rafting trip

What better way to end the semester than to go whitewater rafting? Join Campus Recreation’s OREC program for a whitewater rafting trip this Saturday, April 24!

We have expanded capacity and now have several spots available. If the trip is full when you check, you can also join the waiting list to be contacted with updates if spots open up.

No prior rafting experience is necessary for this trip. The only requirement is that you are relatively comfortable around water. OREC will be providing lunch, supplies, transportation, and guiding services through a ministry organization called Youth Dynamics.

Hadlock and Campus Recreation are hosting a sand volleyball tournament Sunday, April 25, at 1 p.m. Come out and enjoy the nice weather by participating in this fun-filled event!

The format will be 4-on-4 and will either be a double- or single-elimination event, depending on how many people register.

  • Find Pennington in his graduation cap
    • Come see us, and we will fill you in!
  • Place an online order to be picked up in store

Student Accounts is ‘going green’ with billing statements

Starting in May, graduate and School of Professional Studies Adult Degree Program student billings will be fully paperless!

In addition to emailing you your billing statement, we will continue to email you each time a new billable charge is added to your account. We will also continue to email you a reminder if you forget to pay on time.

For those who have third parties involved, we will continue to provide specialized invoices and bills according to your specifications. All of these notifications and emails will be sent to your George Fox email account.

Join Self-Defense Workshop tomorrow night

Campus Recreation is hosting a Self-Defense Workshop tomorrow (Sunday) from 7 to 9 p.m. This workshop is a stand-alone training that walks through self-defense techniques and scenarios.

It is held as a one-time seminar, whereas our normal class is ongoing. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to learn more about self-defense; it does not require any previous experience.

The cost is $10 per participant, and the workshop is open to employees and students. Click here for details and to register.
