The Klages Center will be completely closed tomorrow (Friday) due to construction work on the roof of the building. All students, faculty and staff will not be allowed in the building.

The Career & Academic Planning Center will be sponsoring two career fairs this fall. The first is an in-person event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, in Canyon Commons 101-103. Thirty-six companies are signed up to participate, representing healthcare, engineering, technology, Christian service, marketing and more.
The second will be a virtual fair on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Here you will have the opportunity to meet with companies one on one or in group sessions. All registrations are done through Handshake.
When you register for the virtual event on Oct. 25, you need to find the companies you would like to meet with and schedule an appointment with them.
This is an opportunity for you to network, develop new relationships, gain exposure to the industry you are planning to go into, and hone your presentation skills. Please take time to attend. Thank you!

All are invited to attend a 2022 General Election Candidates Fair this Saturday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Hoover 105.
Hear from local candidates running for office in Newberg and the Oregon Legislature. George Fox University’s Civility Project will co-host, with the Newberg City Club and the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce, a series of four forums for candidates running for local and state offices:
- Oregon House Districts 23 and 24: 10 to 11 a.m.
- Yamhill County Commissioner: 11:10 to 11:55 a.m.
- Newberg Mayor: 12:05 to 12:50 p.m.
- Newberg City Council: 1 to 2:30 p.m.
All the candidates for these positions have been invited, and nearly all of them are expected to attend. They will answer questions and give brief statements about their campaigns in each forum, and will have campaign information available.
You will also have a chance to endorse a Newberg Area Civility Pledge as well as get information about other races on the ballot.

Newberg campus offices will be closed tomorrow (Friday) for the mid-semester holiday. The Murdock Library will be closed, but the 24-hour space will remain open. The library will resume regular hours of operation over the weekend.
The Bruin Store will be open for regular hours (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) on Friday.

The new COVID (Bivalent) Pfizer vaccines are here! If you are interested in receiving the new Pfizer Bivalent COVID vaccine, please call Molly at 503-554-2340 to schedule an appointment.
Note that our COVID vaccination clinics are only available on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m., and on Friday, Oct. 14, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. for now. We will plan for more clinics at a later time based on the amount of responses we receive. The vaccines are free of charge for all!

If you’ve ever had a concussion, please participate in this senior research study on gender disparities during concussion recovery. Participation in the study includes filling out a single survey that should take no more than 20 minutes to complete.
This research will be used to determine a correlation between gender and symptom severity and the recovery rates of concussions. We hope this research will be beneficial for developing better treatment plans and guidelines for concussions.

The Behavioral Health Center (BHC) has availability for new therapy clients! We are staffed by well-trained students from the university’s doctor of psychology program.
The BHC exists to provide low-cost therapy and assessment services to the broader community in and around Newberg, which includes George Fox employees and their families.
Therapy is $30 per session. We are setting up a system to accept FSA/HSA; please let us know in advance if this is your preferred method for payment.

Come see renowned Christian author, teacher and alumnus Richard J. Foster present an award in his name to pastor and fellow author Trevor Hudson this Monday, Oct. 3. The 7 p.m. presentation in Canyon Commons will be followed by Hudson’s keynote speech and a reception. Hudson will also speak at chapel the next morning, Oct. 4, at 10:50 a.m.

A selection committee selected Hudson as the first recipient of the Richard J. Foster Award in Spiritual Formation. The award recognizes those whose intellectual and practical work helps others come into an ongoing transformational relationship with Jesus Christ.
Hudson is the author of more than 20 books, the most recent of which, Seeking God: Finding Another Kind of Life with St Ignatius and Dallas Willard, was released in September.
