FoxTALE fall 2012 upgrade info for faculty

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

Learn more about the upgrade
Join us for a 30-minute webinar that covers new features in the upgraded FoxTALE system. Webinars are scheduled for late spring and summer.

We are also hosting open lab times in Newberg and Portland during the week of May 7-11 so that you can drop in and view your course sites in the new FoxTALE or ask questions.

See the schedule.

Identify course content to be copied for fall 2012
The upgrade requires a new FoxTALE environment. We need your help to identify FoxTALE course sites with content to be copied to the new environment. We’d like to copy and move courses needed for fall 2012 first and have them copied for you before summer. Please follow these steps.

Second annual sand volleyball tournament set for April 21

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

All are welcome to join in on our our second annual 4-on-4 sand volleyball tournament!

If you weren’t there last year, here’s how it’s going to work: Put a team together and sign up on the intramural board in the Bruin Den (no actual team size limit, but you can only have four people on the court at a time). Then come out at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, for some fun behind the Hobson-Macy-Sutton Complex.

If you don’t have a team, don’t worry. Shoot me an e-mail and we’ll hook you up. Hope to see you there!

– Joey Burda (jburda09@georgefox.edu)

Interested in a yoga class this summer?

Tuesday, April 10th, 2012

I’m trying to gauge interest in putting together a faculty/staff yoga class for the summer. Marcella Loprinzi-Hatfield, who teaches core strength/flexibility for our HHPA department, is willing to consider teaching a class this summer, and I’d like to see if we have enough folks wanting to do yoga to hire her for one or two classes a week.

Marcella provides a great, pressure-free approach to strength and flexibility for both beginners and advanced athletes, and a yoga class can improve fitness, health, and mental well-being (after auditing her class for one semester, I’m hooked!).

If you want to explore having some kind of summer course, please e-mail Melanie Springer Mock at mmock@georgefox.edu, and we’ll see what kind of interest we can garner.
