Hosts needed for international students during orientation week

Monday, August 4th, 2014

This fall the university is expecting more than 40 new international students. Their first point of contact with our school is in our International Student Orientation. This orientation begins before the general new student orientation and requires international students to arrive several days earlier than the American students.

If we were to house these students on campus, they would be staying in near-empty buildings in rooms without their American roommates. Our desire is to place all of our incoming international students with host families during our international orientation. What better first impression could they have of arriving in America and staying with an American Christian family?

Would you be willing to host a new international student? The students will be arriving on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 13-14, and be in orientation for a week. Please contact Alex Pia (apia@georgefox.edu) for more information.

Employee volunteers needed for Welcome Weekend

Monday, August 4th, 2014

It’s that time again … Welcome Weekend is our chance to welcome each and every new student as they step onto campus. With such a large incoming class we need all hands on deck, as we each do our part to make students and their guests feel the “Be Known” promise. And who better to do that than our own faculty and staff?

Please complete this form by Wednesday, Aug. 13, and we will contact you with further instructions.
