Have students who are returning to campus early?

Sunday, July 26th, 2015

If your department has students who will be arriving to campus early this fall and living in campus housing, you can still submit applications even though the “Early Arriver” deadline to notify housing has passed (July 24). If you have questions or need the “Early Arriver” form sent your way, you can email housing@georgefox.edu to have that sent to you.

Vehicle registration portal is now open

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2015

Security Services is pleased to announce that the new vehicle registration system is up and running! Here are some tips to make the registration process smoother:

  1. The link to register is on MyGFU and is underneath the “University Resources” heading.
  2. Have your vehicle’s registration card from the DMV with you when you register for needed information.
  3. Important Change: Any vehicle or license plate changes that need to be made AFTER you have registered need to be done by security office personnel. Come into the office during business hours or email Nadine Kincaid at nkincaid@georgefox.edu.
  4. Staff, faculty and adjuncts are given one gratis permit to use between vehicles. If you wish to have a permit for each vehicle, please come to the security office to register additional vehicles and to pay the $5 cash fee per permit.
  5. All staff permits will be delivered via campus mail to your university PO box number, so please have that handy when you register.
  6. For this initial year only, all newly assigned adjunct permits will be valid for 1.5 years, until December 2016. Thereafter they will expire on Dec. 31 of each year. Staff and full-time faculty permits do not expire.
  7. Portland employees need to register only if they frequently come to the Newberg campus.

Questions? Have a situation out-of-the-box? Either e-mail Nadine at the above e-mail address, or call 503-554-2090 during business hours.

Vehicle registration is coming soon

Thursday, July 16th, 2015

Many of you have been asking when the vehicle registration will be available on MyGFU, and the answer is: end of July! The final touches and testing are being done on the new registration portal, and if all goes well it will go live around the last week of July.

We will be announcing it via The Daily Bruin and also on the security services’ Facebook page, so stay tuned! It will require a little bit more information than before, so be sure and have your vehicle registration printout from the DMV in front of you when you begin registering.

  • All employees will need to put in their campus PO box numbers on the second address line, as your permits will be sent there.
  • Students will need to choose a mailing address, as the permits will be mailed to whichever mailing address you indicate (home, campus PO box, off-campus housing).
  • All employees and adjuncts will need to re-register their vehicles, as new, sturdier hang tags will be issued to everybody (this summer’s and previous versions are void as of August).

Instructions will be on the vehicle registration link, so stay tuned for the date it is ready to receive vehicle registrations. Portland Center employees will need to register if they are frequently on the Newberg campus.

Questions? Have an outside-the-box vehicle situation? Call security during business hours at 503-554-2090, or e-mail Nadine Kincaid at nkincaid@georgefox.edu.
