George Fox will welcome visitors from Indonesia on Thursday, Sept. 24, through the International Visitor Leadership Program, a U.S. Department of State-sponsored professional development program that works to create mutual understanding between citizens of the U.S. and other nations. Faculty and students are invited to meet our visitors from 3 to 4 p.m. in Roberts 117.
The IVLP program is focused on tolerance and diversity in education, and the project is designed to further the U.S. foreign policy goal in education cooperation. The visiting group includes Indonesian educators, administrators and policymakers involved in Indonesia’s Islamic education system.
Participants will examine how religious education institutions are mainstreamed in the United States and explore how religious and secular schools, along with faith-based and other civil society organizations, work together as a force for social harmony.
