Colloquium series on spiritual disciplines begins tomorrow

Sunday, November 6th, 2016

A colloquium, “Playing with Fire: Spiritual Formation from the Inside Out,” will focus on cultivating spiritual disciplines and be facilitated by Doreen Dodgen-Magee. It will meet for four Tuesdays in November, on Nov. 8, 15, 22 and 29, at 4 p.m. in Hoover 102.

Doreen has 23 years of experience working in private counseling practice with individuals and groups. She describes herself as a reluctant “geek,” spending inordinate amounts of time interacting with scholarly research, tech trends, and pop culture around the topic of technology and how the digital domain is shaping us. She is passionate about engaging people around this topic, and that passionate energy pours forth regardless of who she is with.

Students attending receive chapel credit valued one more than the number of times they attend (i.e., going all four times would be worth five chapel elective credits).

Important info for today’s home football game

Friday, November 4th, 2016

The campus will look a little different today (Saturday) as we host thousands of guests at our football game against Pacific University at 2 p.m. Here are some things to make note of:

Bauman Parking Lot
Be sure to move your cars out of the Bauman parking lot and the tennis court parking lot tonight (Friday). This space will be dedicated for accessibility parking, vendors and tailgating on Saturday. Stop by on Saturday and check out all of the food and activities happening before the game!

Entrances to the Football Game
There will be two entrances into the game and both are located in the Bauman parking lot, directly behind the stadium.

Wheeler Sports Center Closed
The Wheeler Sports Center will be closed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This means the basketball gym, racquetball courts and locker rooms will be closed. The Fitness Center will remain open for normal business hours, but you will need to enter through the hallway entrance located on the field level, toward the end of the building near the tennis courts. There will be security officers who will ask you where you are headed; just let them know that you are going to work out.

Bauman Walkway
The sidewalk located between the football stadium and Bauman will be closed. Please walk around the building and do not move the barricade.

Barricades
If you see a barricade, it is there for a reason. Please do not move them, jump over them, crawl under them, or unlock them.

Circle Parking Lot
The circle parking lot near Wheeler will be closed for the day. This space is reserved for officials to park in. Officials will arrive as early as 8:30 a.m.

Sideline Passes
No one will be granted field access without a sideline pass. Sideline passes are issued to those who are required to work and/or have official business during the game.

Tickets
Students and staff can show their ID cards at the gate to get into the game free of charge. Additional tickets can be purchased online or at the gate by visiting this link.

Senior Day
We’ll celebrate 15 seniors who will play their last game in Stoffer Family Stadium. The ceremony will begin at 1:15 p.m. in the stadium, and the game will kick off at 2 p.m.
