We are officially half-way through the semester. Can you believe it?
Come to Vespers tonight (Wednesday)Â to enjoy a sweet time of worship and learning with your fellow classmates and coworkers. We encourage you to use time as a break from your busy schedules and to lean into a space of rest and refection.
We are in the book of Ephesians and will be going through the second half of Chapter 4 this week. We’ll meet at 7 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium.
We hope to see you there!

A few weeks ago Marketing Communications migrated www.georgefox.edu (not athletics.georgefox.edu, blogs.georgefox.edu, etc.) from using the insecure HTTP protocol (e.g. http://www.georgefox.edu/) to the secure HTTPS protocol (e.g. https://www.georgefox.edu).
Now we need to update links to www.georgefox.edu in our emails and other materials.
This just requires adding an “s” to the protocol to make this change (e.g. http://www.georgefox.edu/ -> https://www.georgefox.edu/).
This change needs to be made in all digital media that links to www.georgefox.edu: emails, email signatures, saved text to be pasted into emails, PDFs, links on other websites (not links *on* www.georgefox.edu), etc.
In print materials, it’s still fine to use URLs that do not include the protocol (e.g. georgefox.edu/visit).
Please take a moment to update links to www.georgefox.edu in any digital media you manage.
Questions? Email Peter Crackenberg at pcrackenberg@georgefox.edu.

What was life in the past like for persons with developmental and other disabilities? The Disability History Exhibit is a 23-panel collage that traces 3,000 years of a seldom-told history.
From antiquity to the present, the exhibit brings viewers through an illustrated timeline that shows society’s attitudes and how they affect the lives of people with disabilities. Viewers experience powerful feelings as they notice similarities between ancient practices and modern stereotypes.
The Disability History Exhibit will be on display in the MLRC through this Thursday, Oct. 19, as part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. For information about the exhibit content, including PDF and html versions of the content, visit this link. Contact Rick Muthiah (rmuthiah@georgefox.edu) if you have questions about the exhibit.

The university and the community are invited to the 2017 Fall Faculty Lecture, “Earth, Solar Wind and Sun,†featuring Bob Hamilton, PhD, professor of physics, and recipient of the 2016-17 Undergraduate Faculty Achievement Award for Research and Scholarship.

Highlights from research conducted by and with students at George Fox University will be presented using graphics and animations.
Prior to the lecture that evening, the 2017 Fall Richter Student Scholars Symposium will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Hoover lobby. Student scholars from the university’s graduate and undergraduate programs will present their research in a conversational poster format. Refreshments will be provided by the Faculty Development Committee.
