All of the changes are effective as of July 1, 2017, so save yourself from getting returned forms from Finance with incorrect coding.

Effective August 2017, the work week for staff and administrators will change; the first day affected by this change will be Aug. 4, 2017. The new work week will start on Saturday at 12:01 a.m. and will end the following Friday at 12 a.m. (midnight Friday night instead of Friday at 5:01 p.m.).

The physical therapy department is looking for participants to join a 10-week research study on Achilles tendinopathy. The study aims to evaluate individuals with persistent pain in the mid-portion of the Achilles tendon. The tentative start date is the week of July 24; please email us if you are interested to set your time.

- NBC Camps for basketball and volleyball will be on campus July 17-21.
- Newberg Christian Church will host a week-long soccer day camp as an outreach to non-church-attending Newberg community youth at Austin Field July 17-21. Last year, 27 children committed their lives to Christ as a result of this outreach, and many have been instrumental in getting additional family members involved in attending church and Bible studies on a regular basis. Approximately 95 people attend this event.
- The Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends (NWYM) is hosting its annual church conference on campus July 23-26. This is the longest-running summer conference at George Fox. The NWYM is a community of evangelical Friends churches who join together in worship and service to impact society through love in action. They utilize the art office located in Ross as their headquarters while on campus.
- The Chinese Evangelical Church meets for an annual church retreat July 28-30. Several Chinese churches from Oregon and Washington gather each summer to worship together and share what God is doing in and through their congregations.

The George Fox community is invited to a special welcome reception for Vicki Piersall, the university’s new chief financial officer, today (Tuesday) beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the Stevens Center (Duke) Atrium.
Vicki brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience at Xerox, Schnitzer Steel and Sims Metal Management. She begins work at the university on Aug. 4.

Have you been putting off signing up for First Aid/CPR/AED certification training? The last two class sessions for the summer will be on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 11-12, and Thursday and Friday, July 27-28.
This is an eight-hour course that is split into two days, and you need to sign up immediately on the Security Services website, as space is limited. There is more availability in the July 27-28 class, so sign up today. No First Aid/CPR/AED classes will be offered in August, so don’t miss out!
All Basic Life Support (BLS) classes for healthcare professionals are already full for the rest of the summer. Please contact Mark Stone at mstone@georgefox.edu to schedule those during the fall semester.
