Used iPhones available for sale in IT

The IT Department is selling used iPhones at a discounted price. We have a limited number of iPhone 8s available that are just over a year old.

Prices range from $275 with a slight defect to $350 for a flawless 64GB (along with a few 256GBs available for $400). Please note that these phones are sold as is, with no warranty, and come with a power adapter and charging cable only. All phones come with a Verizon SIM.

Donate cold-weather items for homeless by Nov. 26

On Tuesday, Nov. 27, in the FoxHole, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., the Social Work Club will be creating cold-weather kits for those experiencing homelessness!

We would greatly appreciate any donations, including socks, gloves, hats, Chapstick, toothbrushes, toothpaste, aspirin, oatmeal packets, instant soup, snacks, and Ziplock bags. Please bring all donations to the social work house (Meridian Street House) no later than Monday, Nov. 26.

Get your flu shot on Thursday

Now is a great time to get your flu shot! The School of Nursing and the Health and Counseling Center will be teaming up to hold a flu shot clinic on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Roberts Center’s Room 117.

For students with the PacificSource school health insurance plan, the flu shot is free. For all others, the shot is $20. Cash or check accepted.

Movie ‘A Plastic Ocean’ shows Friday night in Hadlock

It’s movie night in the Hadlock Student Center! The sociology department and the Stewards on Sustainability Club invite you to watch the documentary A Plastic Ocean at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16.

That’s what recent grad Brandon Tabbal did. Brandon graduated in 2011 with a degree in accounting and worked in public accounting for five years before being recruited by the Bureau. At the next Industry Insiders event, Brandon will share about this major shift in his professional life. Now, he’s involved in getting criminals off the street, focusing on white-collar crime like corporate espionage, embezzlement, fraud and tax evasion.

President Robin and Ruth Baker cordially invite employees to celebrate together the great mystery of Christ the Lord at the Christmas Concert on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2:30 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium.

Employees are entitled to two complimentary tickets for Sunday’s matinee or a single ticket for any of the other performances (on Dec. 7 or Dec. 8). Following the concert on Sunday, employees are invited to a Christmas open house at the president’s home from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at 701 E. Franklin St. in Newberg.

Do you have hip, knee or ankle pain? Physical therapy is looking for volunteers

The Graduate School of Physical Therapy is looking for volunteers to participate in a lab session on the lower extremity. If you have a problem with your hip, knee, ankle or foot, our lab is the place to be!

Our doctor of physical therapy second-year students, along with faculty members, will be performing examinations and giving you direction on how to take care of your condition. Volunteers are needed for either a one- or two-hour session beginning at 12:30 p.m. and ending at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Roberts Center.

Gather around the Murdock Library fireplace this afternoon (Friday) from 3 to 4 p.m. for George Fox Library’s “Fox at the Fireside” featuring assistant professor and award-winning author Guadalupe García McCall!

Her novel, Shame the Stars (Tu Books, 2016), was chosen as Texas’ Great Read 2018 by the Center for the Book in affiliation with Texas State Library and the Library of Congress. Her most recent novel, All the Stars Denied (Tu Books, 2018), has already received a starred review from School Library Journal.

She will read selections from her novels, share some stories, and open the space for further conversation around the fireplace.
