SpIL has several volunteer opportunities for this fall

Monday, July 22nd, 2019

The Office for Spiritual and Intercultural Life invites you to consider volunteering in some way this fall. Here are a few ways you may do so.

Life Group Leader: We are looking for post-college Life Group leaders for our eight-week Fall Life Groups (the weeks of Sept. 16 to Nov. 8.).

Life Groups are small groups of undergraduate students who meet together for prayer, Bible study and fellowship. Groups meet weekly for 60 to 90 minutes at the time and location of your choosing. Participants will select the group they wish to participate in based on the details that leaders provide.

Groups are encouraged to use one of three curriculum options recommended by our office that parallel other themes that are being explored in chapel. We welcome our employees, alumni, family members of George Fox employees and students, and members of our wonderful local churches to consider leading a group as well.

Our fall leader meeting will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from noon to 1:30 p.m., and lunch will be provided. For more information and to sign up, visit our webpage

Prayer Network: As you may know, George Fox has a prayer team of employees committed to praying for students and their specific prayer requests, which is offered through the Office for Spiritual Life. This year, the prayer network will once again be facilitated by Lecia Retter.

If you would like to be a part of this prayer team, you will receive weekly emails with prayer requests from our undergraduate and graduate students. If you would like to join this team, or would like more information about it, please contact Lecia at lretter@georgefox.edu.

Employee Meal Train Pool: There are times when the Office for Spiritual Life may be coordinating meals for an employee or student experiencing loss, illness, or welcoming a new child. If you would be willing to bring a meal to a George Fox employee or student if the need presented itself, please fill out this form.

Questions can be directed to spirituallife@georgefox.edu.
