The university community is invited to a special guest lecture at 6:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday), when Kevin Gutzman, professor of history at Western Connecticut State University, presents “Liberty at Stake: Vice President Thomas Jefferson, Governor James Monroe, Gabriel’s Rebellion, and the Election of 1800.†Gutzman has authored six excellent books on America’s founders.

Paul Anderson will complete The Saint John’s Bible “Turning of the Pages” sessions during Holy Week today (Thursday) and tomorrow in the Murdock Library.
On both days, from 12:55 to 1 p.m., pages will be turned to the next Holy Week painting. On Friday, from 4 to 4:30 p.m., the entirety of Volume 6 (Gospels and Acts) will be explored.

Join the Stewards of Sustainability for a beach cleanup session this Saturday, April 16. We will be gone from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., returning with plenty of time for those going to Spring Formal. Please meet in the Stevens parking lot at 8:10 a.m., as we will be leaving promptly at 8:30 a.m.
We will provide transportation, trash bags and gloves. Please pack a lunch and anything needed to be prepared for the weather (i.e. sunscreen or raincoat). You can reserve a seat in this Google Sheet. Both students and employees are welcome!

Please make sure all boxes are sturdy and either can close completely or have a lid. You can deliver them to the mailroom on the Newberg campus, where students will pick them up free of charge. This is a small but impactful way we can help students Be Known!

The FY2022-23 preliminary budget was approved by the board of trustees in March. If you have access to Vena, you can run a BvA report 01 or 03, choosing 2023 for the Year and Period 12 to see what is in your FY23 budget.
This budget is only in Vena. The FY2022-23 budget will be loaded into PeopleSoft sometime in June, to be available for you July 1.

Feel free to browse the many outdoor recreation and fitness items, including stand-up paddleboards, longboards, sleeping bags, backpacks, daypacks, and more. Part of the proceeds go toward a student financial assistance fund for UREC programs.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Throughout the month, we will send Daily Bruin announcements containing resources and information to assist everyone in spreading awareness and showing support for survivors of sexual assault.
Visit “Know Your Title IX,” which contains support resources, Title IX information, educational materials, and ways to get involved.
Here are additional resources:
- To chat with a trained support specialist, visit the National Sexual Assault Chat Hotline, available 24 hours a day.
- To learn more about university policies and resources, visit the university’s Title IX website.
- If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, contact Katrina Johnson, Title IX coordinator for students, at katrinaj@georgefox.edu or 503-554-2318.
- For local off-campus resources, visit Henderson House – McMinnville or the Sexual Assault Resource Center in Beaverton.
