George Fox is a Christ-centered university in the tradition of the Evangelical Friends (Quakers). As such, we believe that a diverse community is a gift of God and its flourishing is a theological imperative for the people of God.
We denounce racism and systems of oppression, and proactively work with the Holy Spirit to eradicate those evils from our institution and society. To that end, we offer this prayer for the victims of violence.
As members of our Christ-centered community, we lament the senseless racially and ethnically motivated slayings that took place in Buffalo, New York, on May 14, and Laguna Woods, California, on May 15. Please join us for a special time of prayer today (Tuesday) at 10:30 a.m. in the Barclay House, as we partner with spiritual life pastors to lament the precious lives lost and pray for their families.
An additional opportunity for prayer and reflection will be offered via Zoom tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2 p.m.
If you are interested in resources and support, or ways to become a source of strength for others during this difficult time, please contact Katrina Johnson, dean of student belonging and equity, at katrinaj@georgefox.edu; D’Metri Mattocks, director of intercultural life, at dmattocks@georgefox.edu; or a spiritual life pastor at spirituallife@georgefox.edu.

A reminder to the community: If you or someone in your department wishes to move to another office location, there’s a process for that! All potential office moves must start with a discussion, outlined on this web page.
The relocation process ensures that your location is updated with several departments, including Information Services, IT, Mail Services and Plant Services.
If you have a new employee starting work, please fill out the Relocation Form and specify their starting date so that our records can be updated. Both the Newberg campus and the Portland Center need to follow this process. Thank you!
