Come to the Third Culture Club panel discussion this Friday

Monday, October 25th, 2021

Some specific examples include: minoritized individuals, bicultural/biracial, first- and second-generation immigrants, someone who lived outside their parents’ passport country, or anyone that’s culturally confused.

We are hosting a panel to highlight the differences in life experiences that exist here on campus, and to talk about navigating cultural nuances in one’s identity.

Maker Hub’s ‘Tool Tip Friday’: Photo Table

Thursday, October 21st, 2021

Did you know that the Maker Hub has a photo table? The Maker Hub’s Ortery PhotoBench is a device that enables users to take still photos, 360 photos, and videos of various products and items on flat white backgrounds. The photo table is perfect for creating professional-grade product photos for projects and presentations! Check out this video to see how it works!

The Maker Hub exists as a resource and creative outlet for the entire George Fox community (Yes, including non-engineers!). We are looking for student aces. A student ace is simply an expert on a piece of equipment who helps train other students on the usage of that equipment and gains extra privileges within the Maker Hub.

Please email makerhub@georgefox.edu if you would like to get connected or if you have any questions.

Important details about midterm grades

Thursday, October 21st, 2021

Midterm grades provide an accurate picture of your academic progress so far this semester.

The last day to withdraw from a class without a graded responsibility for a class you may be struggling in is Sunday, Nov. 7. This means that if you withdraw from a class, your transcript will show a “W.” If you do not withdraw now and ultimately do not pass a course, your GPA will suffer.

If your professor has not yet given you a midterm grade, please contact them right away to find out where you stand in that course.

Information regarding withdrawing from a class can be found here.

Students who received a D or an F on their midterms should contact their CAP coach as soon as possible to discuss the consequences of withdrawing from a class. If a student withdraws from a class, they should also contact their CAP coach to discuss their class schedule for future semesters.

Follow this link to contact CAP coaches.

Other resources for students are easily accessible on campus:

If you need help or have any questions, please contact studentlife@georgefox.edu.
