It takes a great team working together to accomplish something extraordinary. Thankfully, we have 20-plus great teams.
On Feb. 14-16, the university’s athletic teams conducted a food drive to benefit the Bruin Community Pantry. While the women’s tennis team brought the most items (1,742), other teams really stepped up and added a significant amount of food to the pantry.
I am grateful beyond words to the athletic department administration who made this event a priority for the student-athletes.
Thank you EVERYONE who contributed time, money and energy to support the Bruin Community Pantry food bank and Grab & Go programs.
Sincerely,
Jere Witherspoon

Each year, the university’s Parent Leadership Committee invites families to join us for a day devoted to prayer for the students, faculty and administration of George Fox. We welcome our families to take time during this day to pray from their homes or work as they feel led.
Throughout the day, you will be able to look to our social media outlets for prayer direction. Our campus pastoral team also created this special Liturgy of Prayer page as another resource to help guide you as you pray.
We invite you, our campus community, to leave a short prayer or Bible verse as well for us to pass out to students! You can do that by filling out this form.
If you have additional questions, please contact our Parent and Family Programs at parents@georgefox.edu.

Did you know Oregon has been in a drought for the past 23 years? One place you can help conserve water is in the bathroom. The average toilet flush uses 1.6 gallons of water. Now, we can’t tell you to go to the bathroom less, but you can make an impact in other ways.
The typical shower head uses 2.5 gallons of water per minute, the average shower takes eight minutes, and the water usage per shower is 20 gallons. How long is your average shower? One way you can reduce your shower time is to listen to two to three songs and then get out.

The Maker Hub’s wood shop is full of equipment to help with your next wood-related project! Our Laguna SmartShop II is a CNC wood router capable of cutting out complex shapes that would otherwise be difficult to create by hand.
Like all CNC machines, the SmartShop II is most useful when a design calls for a high level of precision. Check out this video of a CNC Router in action to make a studio desk! Visit the Maker Hub’s Wiki Page for more information.
The Maker Hub exists as a resource and creative outlet for the entire George Fox community (yes, including non-engineers!). We are looking for student aces. A student ace is simply an expert on a piece of equipment who helps train other students on the usage of that equipment and gains extra privileges within the Maker Hub.
Please email makerhub@georgefox.edu if you would like to get connected or have any questions.
