Complete your 2026-27 financial aid to-do list

Spring break is next week, and the time off will be an excellent opportunity to jump ahead on your financial aid for the 2026-27 academic year! Take care of all your pesky to-do’s now, so you don’t have to worry about them this summer.

Complete the following tasks by May 1 to get an accurate picture of your expected balance for the fall 2026 term and make plans this summer for payment (due on Aug. 15):

  • File your 2026-27 FAFSA or ORSAA as soon as possible if you want to access federal and/or state financial aid.
  • Did you use loans this year? Are you planning to use them next year? You can accept, reduce, or decline your federal Stafford Loans today in MyGeorgeFox (If you change your mind, we can always adjust them later). Watch or read some instructions on how to do that.
  • Considering a Parent PLUS Loan or a private loan? Compare the two options here and find more information on our website. Loan applications open May 1!
  • Has your family’s financial situation changed since 2024? If you’ve had a change of circumstance, or if you had a Professional Judgment this year for special circumstances that will continue next year, request a PJ.

Contact us if you need any help! We’re located on the first floor of the Stevens Center, and we’re available Monday through Friday (drop-in hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.). You’re welcome to call, email, stop by, or schedule an appointment.
