On Wednesday, Nov. 19, the city of Newberg will be testing the water meters at Hobson, Macy and Sutton, starting at 7 a.m.

Testing is expected to take anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour, and the water will be off at that time. Please plan ahead! The bathrooms and kitchens will not have water, so will be closed during the test.

When the water is restored, please open the taps on the faucets slowly to release any pressure. The water may have to run for a couple of minutes to clear any mineral content that may have become dislodged in the water pipes.

• Morse Fields at 11 a.m. (water will be off)
• Two meters at EHS & Wood-Mar: Meter for EHS at 1 p.m. (water should remain on); meter for Wood-Mar at 2 p.m. (water will be off)
• Wheeler at 3 p.m. (water will be off)
• Roberts Center at 4 p.m. (water should remain on)

Hillsboro Airporter is a preferred service to provide a shuttle service to Portland International Airport for the semester break.

Students and families will be expected to work directly with Hillsboro Airporter (or any other service) to reserve their spot. If you make your reservations with others more than 24 hours in advance, Hillsboro Airporter may be able to group students together to possibly save money.

Students can explore alternative transportation by reaching out to those in their living area or connecting with classmates. Google is also a great resource for finding additional choices.

Would you like to sell your art at the Christmas Extravaganza Holiday Hangout on Thursday, Dec. 4? It only costs $10 to rent a table to sell your art to students, staff and the local community.

This year, Holiday Hangout is combining with the Christmas Extravaganza, which will feature a tree-lighting ceremony, carriage rides and lots of other fun activities. The art market will take place in Klages with tables for students and staff to sell their work. This event is attended by students, staff and Newberg locals, so all tables will receive lots of traffic.

Our community longs for shalom, God’s peace, justice and flourishing. The Shalom Summit is a time to pause together in worship, prayer and learning as we explore what it means to practice shalom.

The Shalom Summit, set from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday) in the chapel, will include workshops and activities:

• Rev. Joel Sommer, “Survive. Thrive. Resist.”: Contemplative practices like silence, Sabbath, and Scripture to help justice seekers stay grounded

Advanced physiology students are recruiting women who experience normal menstrual cycles to participate in a research project. The study seeks to examine how blood pressure and heart rate change throughout the menstrual cycle.

The study will focus on college-aged women (ages 18 to 25) and will compare results between birth control users and non-users. So, if you are currently taking birth control you are more than welcome to participate!
