Join us for the Shalom Summit on Nov. 15

Sunday, November 2nd, 2025

Our world is longing for Shalom – the peace, justice and flourishing God has intended for all creation. Fear, racial and ethnic division, violence and injustice are prevalent in our world and are part of the lived experience of many members of our community.

The Shalom Summit, to be hosted on the Newberg campus on Saturday, Nov. 15, will center on the theme of finding hope amidst injustice. It is a free conference for our whole community and will include worship, prayer, workshops and plenary sessions facilitated by a diverse group of pastors, leaders and artists.

Please use these links to access the schedule and to register. We greatly look forward to having you with us as we “seek the shalom of the city”(Jeremiah 29:7)!

Bad cell service indoors? Stop dropping calls with Wi-Fi calling

Sunday, November 2nd, 2025

If your cell signal is weak in a conference room, office or basement, you can still make crystal-clear calls. The solution is Wi-Fi calling.

What is Wi-Fi calling, and why do you need it?

Wi-Fi calling lets your phone make and receive calls and texts over a Wi-Fi network instead of a weak cell network.

  • It uses your regular phone number—it’s not a separate app
  • It’s the perfect fix for indoor “dead zones”
  • Call quality is often much clearer
  • It’s included with most mobile plans at no extra cost

How to enable Wi-Fi calling (it takes 30 seconds!)

For iPhone:

  1. Go toSettings” > Apps” > “Phone”
  2. Tap Wi-Fi Calling”
  3. Toggle “Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone” to on

For Android:

  1. Go to Settings”
  2. In the “Search Settings” bar, type Wi-Fi Calling”
  3. Tap Wi-Fi Calling”
  4. Toggle it on

Important: When you enable Wi-Fi calling, you must confirm your address for 911 emergency services. This is so emergency responders can find you.

If you have questions, email servicedesk@georgefox.edu.
