Commuters: Please complete this Serve Day sign-up form

Thursday, August 28th, 2025

Serve Day 2025 is right around the corner (Wednesday, Sept. 10), and we want to make sure all of our students have a place to serve!

If you are an off-campus/commuting student, please complete this Serve Day sign-up form before 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4.

Our team will be following up and communicating to you (via text and email) about where you will be designated to serve Sept. 10. The goal is to get you, our beloved commuters, to a serve site closer to the home you commute from, so you can drive straight there (instead of to Newberg campus and then to your site).

If you have not been communicated with about your serve site placement by Sunday, Sept. 7, please email serveday@georgefox.edu.

Thank you for serving with passion at Fox!

Review safety protocol for e-mobility devices

Wednesday, August 27th, 2025

As part of our commitment to campus safety, we want to ensure all personal transportation devices, including bicycles, skateboards, and e-mobility devices, are used responsibly.

All devices must be operated respectfully on roads and sidewalks only, with operators yielding to pedestrians and using courteous communication when approaching. For everyone’s safety, all devices may not be ridden inside campus buildings, and riders should keep wheels on the ground at all times.

University policy supports the safe and respectful use of e-mobility devices around campus. E-scooters, e-bikes, and hoverboards should be ridden at slower speeds, especially in pedestrian-heavy areas.

To mitigate fire risks, indoor charging and storage of these devices are strictly prohibited in accordance with Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue guidelines, institutional insurance requirements, and Oregon state law. Riding, storing, or charging these devices inside campus buildings is forbidden. Devices must not block fire exits, stairways, or emergency access areas and should be parked only at designated bike racks.

Remember, helmets and other safety gear are highly recommended. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping our campus safe and accessible for all!

All vehicles parked on campus must have a permit

Wednesday, August 27th, 2025

Following are parking permit registration instructions:

  • From your MyGeorgeFox homepage, select Campus Resources, then Vehicle Registration.
  • If you see a message indicating that there are No Permits Available, click the white login button.
  • Please use your George Fox PO box number for resident permits for faster delivery.
  • After registration, you will receive a printable temporary permit. This goes on your dashboard to use until your sticker arrives in the mail.

Please contact Campus Public Safety at 503-554-2090 or campussafety@georgefox.edu for more information.

Please review George Fox’s parking citation rules

Wednesday, August 27th, 2025

The first week of classes has begun! Here are some of the parking citation rules that will be enforced:

  • Park in the lot designated by your permit. The parking map can be found online at this link.
  • Do not park in neighborhoods surrounding campus unless you live there. If you live in one of the neighborhoods, stop by Campus Public Safety to get a Good Neighbor permit. There is no charge for the permit.
  • Do not park in business parking lots as you are subject to being towed.
  • Do not park in yellow or red zones.
  • Do not park in handicap spaces unless you have a state issued handicap permit.
  • Do not park against traffic.

Wellness Wednesday: Focus on eye health

Tuesday, August 26th, 2025

Good vision is essential for your overall well-being, supporting cognitive function, mental clarity, and even physical comfort. Clear eyesight helps reduce strain, improve focus, and maintain good posture, preventing headaches and muscle tension. It also keeps the brain engaged, strengthening neural connections and promoting long-term cognitive health.

Do you spend hours in front of a computer, phone, or TV? Give your eyes a break and protect them from digital strain with the simple and effective 20-20-20 rule. All you have to do is look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. See more tips for better eye health here.

Need to access your Providence vision plan? Here is your resource. By taking care of your eyes, you’re not just protecting your sight – you’re investing in your overall health and well-being.
