All are invited to join this Saturday’s ‘Friendly Walk’
Don’t forget to participate in the inaugural “Friendly Walk” this Saturday, May 10, starting at 10 a.m. We’ll gather in the plaza on the south side of the Chehalem Cultural Center (adjacent to Sheridan Street).
You will join a small team of people (at least some of whom you won’t know), given a map of a suggested route, and sent off on about an hour’s walk, team by team.
You will have information on key historical and cultural sites in downtown Newberg and on the George Fox campus, and will cooperate to complete items on a list of things to do, talk about, and find along the way – and earn points. Upon returning to the Cultural Center, teams can redeem points for prizes.
Along the way, you will learn about Newberg’s history, have fun, get some exercise, get to know some new people, help create a stronger network of friendly relationships in the community across ideological or other boundaries, and improve your ability to use disagreements to generate better ideas for a better community.
