Vote with food at Armstrong House to support the Bruin Community Pantry!

Recently, the Bruin Community Pantry has found itself low on food, and we in the English department want to support the pantry and all George Fox students by holding a food drive today (Friday) and next week, April 7-11, at Armstrong House. These are the most needed items:

  • Soups
  • Chili
  • Canned meat
  • Boxed or canned meals like rice or pasta
  • Canned fruit

If you’d like to support this effort, we’ve got some literary incentive for you, too. Each day next week, we’ll have a poll for you to vote on with the food you bring. Here’s how it works: two boxes, two categories, and your voter’s freedom.

These are the categories:

  • Friday, April 4: Harry Potter vs. The Lord of the Rings
  • Monday, April 7: Audiobook vs. physical book
  • Tuesday, April 8: Austen vs. Brontë
  • Wednesday, April 9: Poem vs. novel
  • Thursday, April 10: Inklings vs. everyone else
  • Friday, April 11: Reading vs. TikTok

Have strong feelings? Make your voice heard (and food eaten) by stopping by Armstrong next week to vote and support our pantry. We’ll release the winners at the end of next week, so be sure to put your eggs (and other foodstuffs) in the right basket.

If you have questions, please contact Melanie Springer Mock, professor of English, at mmock@georgefox.edu.
