Have you signed up for Summer Online? Don’t miss your chance to save money and time this summer! 

Summer Online offers you the chance to take care of credits from the comfort of your home – or wherever you’ll be this summer – for less than half the cost of regular tuition. Consider this: You could get up to three courses out of the way this summer in just two months (half the length of a typical class!). Free up time in your fall or spring semester, or get on track to graduate early.

Join UREC’s employee-only functional fitness classes during the summer

Keep your energy levels high this summer by joining our employee-only functional fitness classes! We’re continuing our incredible 30-minute sessions, designed for all fitness levels, exclusively for employees and their spouses. Starting May 5, join us every Monday and Wednesday from noon to 12:30 p.m. at the Hadlock Student Center.

These efficient workouts blend weights and bodyweight exercises to enhance your strength, mobility, and endurance. Modifications will be provided to ensure everyone can participate comfortably and effectively.

Volunteer at Washington Family Ranch during faculty retreat May 12-15

Would you like to volunteer at Washington Family Ranch and fellowship with other George Fox students? George Fox is hosting a faculty retreat May 12-15, and we are looking for 10 student work crew members to serve our George Fox faculty.

Duties include preparing meals, kitchen support, retail support, assisting with games and activities, and an opportunity to lead worship. Transportation, meals and lodging are provided.

The crew departs from campus on May 12 and returns the evening of May 15. There’s no cost to you. Sign up here.

Note Bon Appetit locations’ finals week hours

Bon Appetit has finals week hours for all locations posted here. Hours remain the same in Canyon Commons and the Bridge Cafe for most of the week, but please take note of changes to the hours on Friday and Saturday, May 2-3.

Keep an eye on Maker’s Market (which will stay open as long as supplies last) hours on our Instagram @bonappetitgfu.

Finally, please remember to use the GET mobile app to check your flex point balance. The last day to use flex points is Saturday, May 3.

Pick up or drop off extra packing boxes at Mail Services

If you need extra boxes for packing up your dorm room, come to Mail Services. We have collected some large boxes to hand out. We have a limited supply, so come get them soon. Additionally, if you have extra boxes, feel free to bring those to Mail Services so that we can distribute them.

Subscribe to new YouTube channel dedicated to C.S. Lewis conference held on campus

So, what did Tolkien really think of Narnia? A presentation by Dr. Holly Ordway addresses the question – the first in a series of keynote lectures uploaded to a new YouTube channel featuring content from The Undiscovered C.S. Lewis Conference hosted on campus last fall. The event was the largest academic conference on Lewis in history (no exaggeration!).

Be sure to subscribe to the channel and stay tuned for other stimulating keynote lectures that will be added over the course of the next few weeks, one per week. You can also help promote it by sharing the channel, liking the video, and sharing the video.

The chapel will be open from 10 a.m. to noon for all of finals week

Hadlock summer hours and membership information

The Hadlock Student Center is once again offering memberships for the upcoming summer season! Whether you’re staying on campus or sticking around for the summer, we’ve got you covered with access to all the fantastic amenities and facilities the center has to offer.

Hours of Operation
We are open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., with closures on May 26, June 11, June 19 and July 4 for holidays.

Eligibility
Those eligible to purchase summer memberships include:

  • Graduating students from the spring semester
  • Student spouses
  • Part-time George Fox employees
  • Graduate students who are not paying fees for Hadlock

Please note: Students who were enrolled in the spring semester and are continuing for the fall semester receive a free summer membership!

Pricing
Memberships can be purchased at the front desk of the Hadlock Student Center. Summer 2025 passes are priced based on the month they are purchased:

  • May: $80
  • June: $65
  • July: $50
  • August: $30

Please note that all memberships purchased are valid through Wednesday, Aug. 20, and the price decrease each month is to reflect the time available to utilize the facility at the time of purchase.

This is an excellent opportunity to stay active and engaged over the summer months, whether you’re hitting the gym or enjoying our recreational facilities.

Plan to attend Fox Film Festival this week

Do you like to be entertained and support your friends? The Fox Film Festival is your event! Come join us for a night of friends, fun and films. There are two nights of the festival, and the same films will be shown at each. On Saturday, April 26, we’ll host an awards ceremony following the viewings.

Here is the schedule:

  • Friday, April 25, 4 p.m. at the Cameo Theatre. Tickets cost $5 for one, $8 for two.
  • Saturday, April 26, 6 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium. Admission is free; an awards ceremony will follow.

Concessions will be available on both nights!

Can’t attend in person? No problem! We wanted to be sure everyone had access, so this year we’re making a livestream available Saturday night. Click here at 6 p.m. that night to watch!

Our cinematic arts students have been hard at work all year creating short films in a variety of courses. The films fall into several categories, including live action, animated, fresh film (made by first-year students), narrative, documentary/nonfiction, as well as some featured alumni films!
