Submit your proposal for a teaching and learning project

Thursday, March 13th, 2025

Full-time faculty: We are inviting the George Fox faculty community to submit proposals for a nine-month teaching and learning project. The proposals can draw on any area of teaching and learning pedagogy that has widespread appeal to both graduate and undergraduate faculty from a range of disciplines. The project should build a learning community around a particular topic, approach or methodology that is timely, relevant and evidence-based.

Through this investment, we hope to cultivate a community of practice that prepares students spiritually, academically and professionally to think with clarity, act with integrity and serve with passion.

  • Timeline: The project should launch over the summer or early fall (no later than mid-September). We expect work to take place over fall and/or spring semester with a summative component occurring in late spring.
  • Selection Criteria: Academic Affairs and Faculty Development will select one project that best supports missional and student-learning objectives, draws on evidence-based practices, and demonstrates the most feasibility.
  • Award Amount: Up to $5,000.
  • Deadline: Friday, March 21 (notification of award will be in early April).

Submit your proposals on this form. If you have any questions, please email rwinslow@georgefox.edu.

Watch the lunar eclipse with the George Fox Rocket Team

Wednesday, March 12th, 2025

Join the George Fox Rocket Team in watching the total lunar eclipse tonight (Thursday) at 10 p.m. in Wood-Mar 110. During a lunar eclipse, the Earth moves between the Sun and Moon, blocking most of the Sun’s light from reaching the Moon and turning it a dark red color.

There will be cherry pie and gluten-free strawberry pie available on a first-come, first-served basis. If it is clear enough, we will watch from outside, but if visibility is an issue due to weather, we will watch on a screen.  Bring a friend, and let’s celebrate this unique occurrence together!

For any questions you may have, please contact rocketteam@georgefox.edu.
