Kendrick is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and educator. She received a Bachelor of Music from Western Michigan University, a Master of Music from Loyola University, and an Artist Diploma from the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz.

In 2014, she founded her johnygirl record label in an effort to release honest music representative of her world. On this label she has recorded, produced, and released two albums: HERE, a collection of heartfelt originals, and FLYING, a collection of original works and thoughtful arrangements of jazz standards and contemporary works.

It’s American Heart Month, and the Providence Heart Institute and Boston Scientific have partnered together to bring you a podcast focused on heart health, Heart Matters. Each episode covers a different topic surrounding heart health and is presented by cardiologists who are committed to making a positive difference in their patients lives.

You’re invited to join us for an off-campus retreat during mid-semester break on Thursday, Feb. 13, through Saturday, Feb. 15.

These retreats are thoughtfully designed for a small group of 10-12 students and will take place off campus. During the retreat, participants can expect to enter into a slower pace to engage in various spiritual practices that refresh their mind, body, and spirit. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to create connections with fellow students and staff, fostering a sense of community and support.

You must fill out this application to express interest in attending. You will receive a confirmation email to let you know you’ve been selected to attend and then you will secure your spot with $20. The $20 covers food, lodging, and transportation. The last day to sign up is tomorrow (Friday).

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will be hosting the second weekend of Scholarship Summit on campus tomorrow (Friday). With around 500 visitors expected on campus, we are asking George Fox students and employees to help extend the Be Known promise throughout the day. Here’s what you can keep in mind.

• Use street parking instead of campus parking lots. Guests will be arriving on campus Friday morning between 7:45 and 8:30 a.m. and will fill all the main campus parking lots.
• Be mindful of guests in your housing area. We will have housing tours circulating through Edwards, Gulley, Pennington, HMS, and Newlin from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tour groups will be viewing dorm lobbies and a room on the first floor of each dorm.
• Plan for Canyon Commons to be busier than usual. Guests will be going through the main servery line. If you see a family looking for a spot to sit, invite them to join you!

• Drive Safely: Allow extra time for your commute and reduce your speed to account for slippery roads.
• Walk Carefully: Watch for icy patches on sidewalks, parking lots, and entryways. Use designated walkways whenever possible. Check out these safety tips.
• Report Hazards: If you notice any areas with dangerous ice buildup, please report them to Plant Services or your building monitor.

As part of a research project by the George Fox doctor of physical therapy program, we’re offering free one-time physical therapy consultations to help you decide what to do next to manage your condition – no referral or payment needed. Get expert insight and take the first step toward feeling your best, all at no cost to you! Appointments are available on Thursday mornings beginning Feb. 6.

This resource is offered to all George Fox students, employees and families (18 and over) by DPT faculty at the George Fox PT Community Clinic location (448 Werth Blvd.) and does not necessarily include official physical therapy treatment. It is geared toward conversation, education and evaluation of the best path to take toward greater health!

If physical therapy treatment is recommended, our PT Community Clinic is available to you on a $25 per session cash-pay basis.
