Plan to attend dinner and training for respite-care events this Thursday

Make sure to continue making space in your schedule to keep serving others in deep and meaningful ways after Serve Day!

FPNO (Foster Parents Night Out) and KiDO (Kids Day Out) are monthly respite-care events where student volunteers can serve not only kids but their parents and caregivers by providing a safe and fun space while their parents/caregivers get some time to recuperate.

In order to volunteer in this meaningful way, we need students to commit to getting trained, background-checked, and commit to consistency of presence for these “Little Bruins” throughout the school year.

Volunteers can apply by filling out this form. Also, plan to come to our “National Care for Kids Day” dinner and training event from 6 to 8 p.m. this Thursday, Sept. 19, in Hoover 105.

This is an important service our campus provides for kids in foster care and for kids with disabilities, as well as for their hard-working and dedicated families that need support and rest.
