Be aware of heat advisory today through Sunday
According to the National Weather Service, this region is under a heat advisory for today (Friday) through Sunday, July 16, at 9 p.m. Temperatures are expected to range between 93 and 98 degrees in some areas.
Here are some tips to beat the heat:
- If you are working in a building without air conditioning or outdoors, please schedule work during the coolest parts of the day. Take advantage of cooler buildings such as the Murdock Library, Klages, or Canyon Commons.
- Stay hydrated by drinking water every 20 minutes.
- During the hottest part of the day, check on fellow employees every hour to two hours. Know the symptoms of heat-related illnesses.
Temperatures will return to the mid-80s during the first part of next week, with anticipation of another heat event by the end of the week.
