Maker Hub’s ‘Tool Tip Friday’: Grizzly Vertical Spindle Sander

The Grizzly vertical spindle sander is normally used for sanding the inside corners of wood or sanding curved surfaces square to the table. The machine contains a 1HP motor and has 10 different sanding spindles ranging from a quarter inch to to 4 inches in diameter.

The oscillating action gives users a smooth-sanded surface at 1725 RPM. Check out this video to see how it works. For more information, visit the Maker Hub’s wiki page.

The Maker Hub exists as a resource and creative outlet for the entire George Fox community (yes, including non-engineers!). We are looking for student aces. A student ace is simply an expert on a piece of equipment who helps train other students on the usage of that equipment and gains extra privileges within the Maker Hub.

Please email makerhub@georgefox.edu if you would like to get connected or have any questions.
