RSVP for April 7 discussion on racial, ethnic and social disparities in the criminal justice system
Please join us for the Master of Social Work’s spring justice event, titled “Interdisciplinary Practices within Social Work and the Law: Racial and Social Disparities in the Criminal Justice System,” with Dr. Diomaris E. Safi, PsyD.
The event will be held in the Portland Center’s Room 285, on Friday, April 7, from 9 to 11 a.m. An RSVP is required, and you can do so here.
Dr. Safi is the founder and director of the Social Justice in Clinical Neuropsychology (SJCN) Program at UCLA-Hispanic Neuropsychiatric Center of Excellence. She will cover contemporary social issues as well as interdisciplinary career opportunities and practices.
Her discussion will provide information about racial, ethnic and social disparities in the criminal justice system. In addition, she will explore current models of applying generalist social work practice in interdisciplinary teams and her vision for the SJCN program.
