Give us your recommendations for student leaders by Jan. 16

Student Life is looking for students that exhibit Christian maturity, humility and leadership skills to serve as student leaders for the 2023-24 academic year.

We have over 150 students who serve in various leadership roles in Intercultural Life, Residence Life, Spiritual Life, Student Activities, Commuter Life, ASC (Associated Student Community), Parent and Family programs, and University Recreation. You can learn more about the various student leader offerings by visiting the Student Life Leadership and Employee website.

Because of your interactions with students, we would value your suggestions and recommendations for students to be considered for these positions.

If you would like to recommend a student, please fill out this response form by Monday, Jan. 16. We will personally encourage the students you recommend to seek candidacy in our programs. Past and current student leaders have reported that recommendations from peers, staff and faculty are one of the most important reasons they consider these positions.

It will be additionally meaningful to them if you are able to encourage them personally, let them know of your recommendation, and tell them what you see in them. Personal encouragement goes a long way for students, especially those who struggle to see themselves as qualified for leadership positions.

If you have any questions, please contact Sharia Hays, assistant dean of Student Life operations (shays@georgefox.edu), or Mark Pothoff, dean of students (mpothoff@georgefox.edu).
