Are you a woman involved in ministry? Feeling burned out? We have a workshop for you!
This online Zoom session is for women involved in any kind of Christian ministry at any level. Offered as a completely free opportunity, the purpose is to help women in ministry better recognize, prevent and reduce burnout in their own lives to better equip them in their calling.
This is an evidence-based clinically informed workshop that integrates both supported psychological methods with a Christian worldview. A doctoral research project created by a student in the university’s PsyD program, it will meet for one-hour weekly sessions on Wednesday or Thursday evenings between April 6 and May 12.
More info and registration is available at ministryburnout.com.

The state of Oregon is lifting its indoor mask mandate at midnight on Friday, March 11, and George Fox is following the state’s decision.
Starting Saturday, March 12, masks will no longer be required indoors with the exception of medical facilities (e.g., Health and Counseling Center, physical therapy clinic, etc.). Some medical education programs may still need to require masks due to their training requirements.
After March 12, individuals are welcome to continue wearing face coverings. We ask that community members respect the choices of their colleagues and peers.
Questions? Contact Bill Buhrow at bbuhrow@georgefox.edu.

The Cultural Enterprise invites the entire campus community to a Forum on Faith and Sexuality on Monday and Tuesday, March 14-15, in Canyon Commons.
The two-day event features three widely acclaimed authors: Wesley Hill, Eve Tushnet and Nancy Pearcey. Our hope is to provide stimulus for thoughtful dialogue with pressing questions of human sexuality and Christian faith through the testimony and ideas of these presenters.
There will be three keynotes as well as a panel, all with opportunities for engagement from the audience. Obviously these questions are complex and discussion of them increasingly fraught, but our hope is to demonstrate Christlike concern for people and truth.
Here is the schedule:
- Monday, March 14, 7 p.m.: Wesley Hill
- Tuesday, March 15, 1:30 p.m.: Eve Tushnet
- Tuesday, March 15, 7 p.m.: Nancy Pearcey, followed by panel featuring all three speakers
Have questions? Contact Sarah Taylor at taylors@georgefox.edu.

Troubled by political polarization in their communities, leaders from three Oregon cities will share about their efforts to build local political civility in a panel discussion at George Fox from 7 to 8:30 p.m. this Wednesday, March 9, in Hoover 105.
Silverton mayor Kyle Palmer, Newberg mayor Rick Rogers, Canby community leader Ray Keen, and Newberg Downtown Coalition Executive Director Polly Peterson will discuss the threats to their communities’ well-being that come from bitter political divisions, and how they are working to heal those divisions and move political discourse into a more productive mode.
The event will be moderated by Ron Mock, director of the George Fox Civility Project, an initiative launched during the 2020-21 academic year out of concern about the polarization and alienation in political culture at every level (national, state and local). It sponsors events, publishes a newsletter, and maintains a website with information about civility.
Masks will be required to attend the session in person, in keeping with university policy and state regulations. Those who prefer to attend remotely can connect via Zoom. A link will be available on the Civility Project website or by contacting the project at civility@georgefox.edu.
There will be time for questions from the audience, including questions submitted via Zoom from those attending remotely.
