Is it possible for a politician to succeed without resorting to incivility? To find out, come to Hoover 105 this Monday, Nov. 15, when biographer Richard Etulain will explore this question in the political life of the late Oregon Senator Mark O. Hatfield. Join us from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Etulain, professor emeritus of history and former director of the Center for the American West at the University of New Mexico, is the author of Mark Hatfield: Oregon Statesman. Hatfield was a Christian whose faith blossomed during his political career.
Those who attend in person will be required to wear masks. The presentation will also be available via Zoom by registering (for free) at this link. If you have questions, contact Ron Mock at civility@georgefox.edu.

Did you know that the Maker Hub has two 3D scanners? The Maker Hub has two Artec 3D Scanners: Spider and Eva.
The Spider model uses blue light technology and is perfect for capturing intricate details of large industrial objects, or high-resolution images of small objects such as molding parts, PCBs, keys, and coins.
The second 3D scanner, the Eva model, uses light scanning technology and is ideal for a quick, textured and accurate 3D model of medium-sized objects such as an alloy wheel or a motorcycle exhaust system. It is the perfect scanner for objects of almost any kind, including objects with black and shiny surfaces.
Check out these videos on the Spider and Eva models to see how they work!
The Maker Hub exists as a resource and creative outlet for the entire George Fox community (yes, including non-engineers!). We are looking for student aces. A student ace is simply an expert on a piece of equipment who helps train other students on the usage of that equipment and gains extra privileges within the Maker Hub.
Please email makerhub@georgefox.edu if you would like to get connected or have any questions.

Psychologist Carl Jung coined the term “shadow†to refer to the parts of ourselves we hide, repress or deny. Robert Bly called the shadow “the long bag we drag behind us.†We place all that would cause us pain and conflict into the bag, but it still holds incredible power to transform our lives, relationships and communities.
A virtual course, “Companioning Our Shadow: Emotions and Relationships” is a space to invite Christ to meet our hidden self, and deepen our process of healing and transformation. Join instructor Michael Simmons as he explores practices and tools for companioning our shadowed emotions. We will meet virtually from 9 to 11 a.m. (PST) tomorrow (Friday).
The cost for attending the course is just $39, and participants can register by clicking the above link. If you have any questions, email Michael Simmons at msimmons@georgefox.edu.

We get it: You have a lot going on at the moment. The Thanksgiving holiday is right around the corner, followed by finals and the end of the semester. But alas, it is also time to start thinking about your financial aid for next year (or even next semester).
The good news is, we want to help! The financial aid office is offering a “Help Me Hangout†in Canyon Commons 101 from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Nov. 18. We will have coffee, donut holes from Sesame Donuts, and cookies for anyone who stops by.
Whether you have a quick question about financial aid, need help with your FAFSA, or are looking for scholarship applications, we want to see you. You can pop in for a quick minute as you’re passing through, or you can sit with us and work while you wait between classes.
Grab a roommate or friend, your laptop, and come see us so you can get your financial aid taken care of for next year and enjoy your upcoming break!
Questions? Contact Soren Sweet at ssweet@georgefox.edu.
