Submit Fox360 Alerts for students of concern

Monday, February 1st, 2021

If you have concerns about a student in the traditional undergraduate program, log into Fox360 at Fox360.georgefox.edu to submit an “alert” for the student. Submit alerts for concerns in the following areas:

  • Academic – Missing multiple classes; consistently poor academic performance
  • Behavioral – Concerning or disruptive behaviors in or outside of class
  • Emotional – Mental health concerns; unusual emotional expression
  • Physical – Medical concerns; extreme changes in grooming, personal care
  • Social – Personal, social, or family concerns that are affecting well-being and performance

This Fox360 Quick Guide provides a visual overview of the Fox360 system; more details about using Fox360 are available in this Google Doc.

The Student Support Network will assign a “case manager” to follow up with students. Case managers will do our best to give updates to faculty members who submit alerts or provide feedback. You are welcome to contact Jere Witherspoon (jwithers@georgefox.edu) or Rick Muthiah to inquire about the status of a student.

If you have questions or would like more information regarding Fox360, contact Rick Muthiah at 503-554-2314 or rmuthiah@georgefox.edu.

Do you know any high school educators who would like help in their online classroom?

We are GFU EPIC (Engineering Project Innovation Commission), a Servant Engineering project team tasked with aiding high school teachers with frustrations regarding online learning. We desire to come alongside high school educators, listen to their ideas, and brainstorm how we might be able to help them in an online learning environment.

If you know an educator looking for help in the classroom, have them visit our website, where they can get more information and have the opportunity to fill out a brainstorming form.

1098-T Tuition Statements are now available

Monday, February 1st, 2021

Student Accounts would like you to know that 1098-T Tuition Statements are now available!

Students may download their form by:

  •  Logging in to your MyGeorgeFox account
  •  Selecting “Financial Account”
  •  Clicking on “Account Services”
  •  Selecting “View 1098-T”

If you do not see a form, you did not qualify for this year. There are multiple reasons this may happen, but the most common are:

  •  Scholarships, grants, or third-party payments were in excess of the qualified payments
  •  You did not have qualifying enrollment

Physical copies were also mailed at the end of January to those who did not sign up for electronic delivery.

For more information about the 1098-T, including links to IRS guidelines and instructions, please visit Student Accounts’ webpage.

Audition for the play ‘Parables’

Monday, February 1st, 2021

Inspired by the theatre department’s ministry work this past fall, our spring main-stage show is a re-conceived Parables. Directed by Cristi Miles and inspired by Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble, along with current COVID protocols, this reimagined traveling theatrical installation promises to be a unique experience for performers and audience alike.

Auditions will be held via Zoom Monday, Feb. 8, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Sign up to audition here.

Play information:

Using well-known (and not so well-known) parables, along with possibly fables and/or allegories, and the international bestselling book The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho as source material, we will devise site-specific performances around our beautiful campus.

An ensemble of performers/creators/designers who consider themselves theatrical innovators is being summoned. Come and create something, make something from nothing, and birth a new play into being.

Come and challenge your notions of tradition, of what theatre can be, and how it can be made. Make it new yourself! Come experiment and play. We are redefining Parables and seeing what we learn. Are you in?

Click here for audition information. Hope to see you there!
