Stop by the climbing wall for more information and to pick up a log to track your vertical feet through the month. The categories include first to reach 3,000 feet, hardest average grade, and fastest ascent.

Questions? Contact Keith Schneider at kschneid@georgefox.edu or talk to the HSC climbing wall staff.

Panel will discuss providing clean water to Africa

Sunday, February 2nd, 2020

In Matthew 10:42, Jesus calls his followers to offer even a cup of water in his name as a means of ministry. Given the plight of threatened drinking water in Africa, what can engineers and Christian leaders do to provide clean water to Africa?

These issues will be addressed by a panel on Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 4 to 5 p.m. in EHS 102. The panel will include Paul Anderson, Joseph Clair, Ben Giudice and Jeff Walters, as well as Larry Heitz, director of the Lawrence Institute. All are welcome!

Questions? Contact Paul Anderson at panderso@georgefox.edu.

Contact Plant Services if you have custodial needs

Sunday, February 2nd, 2020

The Newberg campus custodial duties have successfully transitioned over to Jani-King, who clean the academic areas after normal business hours. Another Jani-King crew services Canyon Commons several times during the day.

If you have an area that seems to have been missed on the cleaning schedule, a sudden spill requiring immediate clean-up, or if you notice a restroom that is lacking supplies due to high traffic, please contact the Plant Services office. We have a day crew that can restock or clean areas during business hours. Thank you!

Questions? Contact Dixie Downey at ddowney@georgefox.edu.

SpiL trip applications are due today

Saturday, February 1st, 2020

SpiL Trips are an opportunity for students to engage in experiential credit for Spiritual Life while also engaging in service with ears, eyes and hearts wide open. Students will work alongside people and organizations modeling Christian community development in under-resourced communities and oppressive environments.

This spring break, teams will serve at:

  • California/Mexico border with The Global Immersion Project
  • Seattle, Washington, with Urban Impact
  • Wapato, Washington, with Mending Wings at the Yakama Indian Reservation
  • Yosemite, California, with the Tuolumne River Trust

Applications are due here today (Sunday). More details can be found on the webpage.

The program requires students to attend all pre-meetings, the weeklong trip, and post-meeting. Attendance of all these events is mandatory in order to receive chapel credit.
