Learn about the Peace Corps tomorrow

Peace Corps Recruiter Scot Roskelley will be on campus tomorrow (Wednesday) to talk with students about opportunities for service in the Peace Corps. Roskelley is hosting a recruitment table from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Canyon Commons. He will also be hosting an information session at 4 p.m. in Canyon Commons 102.

While people typically apply to the Peace Corps at the beginning of their senior year or about a year before completing a graduate degree, Roskelley also encourages freshmen, sophomores and juniors to talk with him because there are things students can do early in their college careers to make them more competitive when they apply.

After completing a 27-month term of service in the Peace Corps, returned volunteers have a letter that makes them more competitive when applying for federal government jobs. In addition, there are more than 200 colleges and universities around the country offering graduate school fellowships to returned Peace Corps volunteers in a wide variety of majors.
