New ID cards now available for employees

Over the summer, the university transitioned from our former ID card system, which used a magnetic stripe, to a proximity card system that lets an individual tap the card on a reader instead of swiping.

Due to this change, we have printed a new card for every employee at George Fox University and, pending the status of our new proximity-reader installations, you may find that you are not able to get into the buildings you need without it.

If you haven’t already received your new card, your administrative assistant may have it for you. If not, there are a few other opportunities to pick up your new card:

  • Faculty meeting on Aug. 16: New cards will be with name tags at check-in.
  • All-community meeting on Aug. 19: We will have a table you can stop by to grab your card
  • Stop by the Service Desk in the Stevens Center between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Please note: You will need to turn in your old card in order to pick up your new one. Please bring this with you. Your new card should have all the same permissions activated that your old one did.

Thank you for working with us as we continue our efforts to make campus life easier!
