Apply to be event programmer at Commuter Life

Commuter Life is hiring two event programmers for the next academic year. These programmers help plan intentional programs for commuting students. 

These student leadership positions work on a fun team with other commuters about three to five hours a week. If you are moving off campus next year, we would love for you to be a part of the team!

Please complete the application by this Sunday, April 14, to be considered.  Each applicant should submit two professional references with the application on Handshake.

Come to the Party in the Quad and Canyon Chaos run today

Don’t miss the end of the year Party in the Quad today (Friday) at 3 p.m. The first 100 people to arrive will get Chick-fil-A nuggets!

Pizza and Italian sodas will be served for all, and there will be yard games and bubble soccer to enjoy.

At 4 p.m. the Canyon Chaos run will begin in the Quad. Come dressed in a zombie costume and win extra points for your living area. At 5 p.m. the winners for this year’s living area competition will be announced.

One of the Undergraduate Admissions office hand trucks has gone missing and we are hoping you can help us find it!

The hand truck has a silver frame, black handle, black tires, black nose, and has “UG Admissions” written on the side of it in permanent marker.

Plan to attend May 3 baccalaureate service for graduates

The university pastors warmly invite you to attend the undergraduate baccalaureate service on Friday, May 3, from 7 to 8:15 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium. Baccalaureate is a commissioning service for our graduating seniors and the opening event of the graduation festivities.

Join with us as we support, pray and commission our graduates into all that God has for them as they conclude their time here. Attire for the event is business casual.

PT students offer free back and neck sessions on April 18

Attend a chamber concert tonight

Gather for a chamber concert tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium, featuring a diverse selection of musical genres and periods, ranging from baroque to contemporary.

The event will feature George Fox’s Chamber Singers, Women’s Chorale, Chamber Orchestra, Keyboard Ensembles, Flute Choir, and Saxophone Quartet.

Information about vehicle registration

Once the dust settles from the end of the semester, please email any vehicle changes to Nadine Kincaid at nkincaid@georgefox.edu or bring your DMV registration slip to the Campus Public Safety office to update your registration. If you have moved since you registered, we need to know that as well.

If you work at the Portland Center and come frequently to the Newberg campus, please go to MyGFU and register for a staff parking permit to avoid being ticketed for non-registration when you come to Newberg.

Holy Week Chapel
Join us on Tuesday, April 16, from 10:50 to 11:40 a.m. as we remember the events from Palm Sunday to Good Friday. The university choir will be leading us in music worship. 

Shalom
Join us on Tuesday, April 16, at 9 p.m. in Canyon Commons as we discuss the events of Holy Week and their implications for discipleship, wholeness, and the spread of the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus.

Stations of the Cross
On Wednesday, April 17, at 7 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium we offer an opportunity to experience student-created Stations of the Cross and participate in an extended time of worship through music led by our Vespers band.

Maundy Thursday
Join us for an informal celebration on Thursday, April 18, from 12:30 to 1 p.m. in the Bauman Green Room as we worship and take communion together. 

Good Friday and Easter Sunday

See ‘The Amish Project’ performance next week

Come see George Fox theatre’s production of The Amish Project, showing at Wood-Mar Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, April 18 and 19!

The Amish Project is a fictional exploration of the Nickel Mines shooting of an Amish schoolhouse in 2006. Community members in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, share their stories and experiences as they struggle to find God in this story of real-life, radical forgiveness.

Tickets are sold at the door for a recommended donation of $7 or pay-what-you-will.
