Professor Gina Miller presents at first LACI lecture of fall Monday
The campus community is invited to the first Liberal Arts and Critical Issues presentation of the fall this Monday, Sept. 7, in Hoover 105. Gina Miller, the university’s new assistant professor of politics and international studies, will speak on the topic “Balancing Western Values and Global Citizenship.” The same presentation will take place at 5 to 6 p.m. and again from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Guests are asked to attend the later session.
Miller will discuss how the spread of Western influences around the world has produced mixed outcomes, particularly regarding how many observers in the “majority world” perceive and react to Western involvement in national or regional issues and conflicts around the globe. Her presentation kicks off this year’s series, “Majority World and the West.”
