Physical therapist’s presentation is tonight

Don’t forget to join the Department of Physical Therapy today (Thursday) for Dr. Diane Wrisley’s presentation from 5 to 7 p.m. in Hoover 105.

Dr. Wrisley has published numerous articles and presented at national and international conferences on the evaluation and treatment of patients with vestibular and balance dysfunction. Her research interests include the use of sensory information for balance and novel techniques in the evaluation and treatment of vestibular and balance dysfunction.

In preparation for Thursday’s presentation, Dr. Wrisley has reviewed 70 recent articles on Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). Some of the learning objectives for the lecture are:

  • Briefly describe the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system
  • Briefly describe the pathophysiology of BPPV
  • Describe the evaluation and intervention techniques for BPPV
  • Relate new findings in the evaluation and treatment for BPPV
