Marvin Olasky speaks on campus this Friday
Marvin Olasky, editor-in-chief of World magazine and the author of more than 20 books and 3,000 magazine articles, will speak on the university’s Newberg campus from 7 to 8 p.m. this Friday, Sept. 13, in Bauman Auditorium. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, and there is no charge to attend.
Olasky’s lecture, “Renewing the Christian Liberal Arts,†inaugurates the university’s new William Penn Honors Program, an alternative liberal arts general education program for undergraduate students set to launch in the fall of 2014.
In addition to his position at World – one of the world’s leading Christian news publications with 100,000 subscribers – Olasky is the Distinguished Chair in Journalism and Public Policy at Patrick Henry College. He is the author of 22 books, including Compassionate Conservatism, Fighting for Liberty and Virtue and The Tragedy of American Compassion. He’s also written 3,000 articles for publications including World, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
