Events planned on campus this week in honor of Cesar Chavez

Don’t forget to join us for our Cesar Chavez celebration on campus this week. Below are the activities/events we have planned.

  • Tuesday, April 2: Shalom Faith & Film: A Better Life, followed by an immigration panel discussion, Cap & Gown Room, 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 3: Cesar Chavez discussion and Mexican food cooking class, Klages Dining Hall, 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 4: Cesar Chavez documentary hosted by the Latino Heritage Club, Cultural House, 8 p.m.

The purpose of the events is to give you an opportunity to learn about who Cesar Chavez was and what his legacy is. We also want to raise awareness about issues regarding immigration and Latinos in higher education. Ultimately, we want to give you an opportunity to learn about Latinos from Latinos.

If you have any questions, e-mail Nancy Arellano (narellano11@georgefox.edu), Joel Perez (jperez@georgefox.edu), or Julio Bautista (jbautista11@georgefox.edu).
