Security: Be on lookout for any suspicious behavior or activities on campus

To all employees,

Security is aware of the concerns due to the release of Scott Cox and the impact this has on the community in general. We would like to reassure you that your security department is working with our local law enforcement and parole/probation officers to keep an eye out for Mr. Cox and keep track of his whereabouts.

There have been reports that Mr. Cox was seen on or near our campus within the last several days, and Security Services has followed up and canvased the campus as soon as the reports were made to us. We (security) have not had any face-to-face contact with Mr. Cox on this campus at all. In fact, Mr. Cox is being tracked via GPS bracelet, and in consulting with his probation officer, we learned that the only day Scott Cox was in Newberg was on Tuesday Feb. 26. In addition, he was not near our campus during that time.

Security would also like to let you know that Scott Cox has been trespassed from both George Fox and Linfield, and as a result, if he goes to either of those locations he would be in violation of his parole.

We do appreciate everyone’s help in working with security to keep our campus a safe and healthy place to learn and work and ask that you join us in continuing this effort. We are not only watching for Mr. Cox but also any suspicious behavior or activities on our campus. If you believe that you have seen Mr. Cox, please contact security immediately so we can respond.

Thank you,
Security Services (ext. 2090)
