Portland Youth Philharmonic performs free concert on campus Feb. 25

The university will host the Portland Youth Philharmonic, led by Conductor and Music Director David Hattner, for a Monday, Feb. 25, concert in Bauman Auditorium. The 7:30 p.m. performance is free and open to the public, and no tickets are required.

The evening will feature Rachel Graves, winner of PYP’s 2012-13 Concerto Competition, performing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64. The program also includes William Bergsma’s Chameleon Variations and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 in B Minor, ‘Pathétique.’

The concert is a free preview of PYP’s winter concert to be held in the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall on Saturday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m.
