Applications for faculty PLC on teaching strategies due Dec. 10
Applications for the faculty Professional Learning Community “Teaching for Student Learning: Effective Strategies for the University Classroom†will be accepted through Monday, Dec. 10.
The PLC, originally scheduled for this fall, was moved to spring semester. Several faculty are already enrolled, but there is plenty of room for more! The PLC is designed to enhance teaching, increase student learning, and deepen reflective practice.
The facilitator is Gary Sehorn, assistant professor of education. Sessions will be held in Newberg from 10:40 to 11:30 a.m. on the following Wednesdays: Jan. 30, Feb. 6, Feb. 20, March 6, March 20, April 10 and April 24. Each participant will receive an honorarium of $325 and a copy of the book How Learning Works.
Applications are available at this Academic Affairs webpage (“Faculty Development/Programs and Events”). Please complete the application and submit it to Brenda Burg (bburg@georgefox.edu) by 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10.
