Candidates forum scheduled on campus Oct. 23

The Yamhill County Commission race and contests for two Oregon House of Representatives seats will be spotlighted in a candidates forum on Tuesday, Oct. 23, on the Newberg campus.

The event, sponsored by the Christian Chamber of Commerce of the Northwest, is scheduled 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Villa Academic Complex.

Answering questions in the moderated forum will be:

  • Yamhill County Commission candidates Allen Springer of McMinnville and Denise Bacon of Newberg
  • House District 24 candidate Jim Weidner, Republican of Yamhill (Democratic challenger Kathy Campbell of McMinnville is unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict)
  • House District 25 candidates Kim Thatcher, Republican of Keizer, and Paul Holman, Democrat of Newberg

Coffee, tea and pastries will be available at the meeting, which is free for Chamber members who R.S.V.P. at cccnw.net. A $5 donation is suggested from non-members and guests who R.S.V.P. For more information, go to the Chamber’s website or call 503-928-8354.
