Encourage qualified students to apply for new multicultural scholarship

If you know a deserving student who fits the requirements for the Multicultural Returnee Scholarship, encourage them to apply!

This brand-new scholarship will be awarded starting in the fall of 2012. Four $2,500-per-year renewable scholarships will be given to returnee students who meet the following requirements:

  • Considered a domestic undergraduate student
  • Actively involved in leadership at GFU
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Willingness to be engaged in diversity requirements

To qualify, students must not already be on a multicultural scholarship (any that partner with George Fox; students are to check with Shelley Yonemura if there are questions). The following must be submitted to student life no later than Wednesday, April 4, at 5 p.m.:

  • Two copies of a printed leadership resume that includes the following:
    • Tell us what makes the student qualified as a Multicultural Leadership Scholar
    • Cumulative GPA
    • Two names of GFU faculty/staff that would recommend the student

An e-mail will be sent to inform those who make it to the second round. Round Two will take place on Thursday, April 12, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Questions? Contact Shelley Yonemura, director of Multicultural Student Programs, in STV 327 or a syonemura@georgefox.edu.
