Both events are sponsored by the Faculty Development Committee. Refreshments will be served.

The university’s Homecoming celebration is this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5-6, so take advantage of this special time to reconnect with former students. Also, be sure to encourage alumni to return to campus.
Free T-shirt and football entrance for alumni
Like last year, all alumni and their families will get free entrance into the football game. They will also get a complimentary alumni T-shirt that will serve as their ticket. If you know any former students, tell them about this perk and encourage them to spread the word.
Schedule of activities
As always, we will have a jam-packed weekend of activities for alumni and their families. You can find the full schedule here.
Here are just a few of the many planned events …
- An Alumni of Color workshop Saturday morning
- An Alumni Plaza unveiling, affinity tailgates, a “kid zone” and a concert by the band Hit Machine
- The Sports Hall of Fame induction reception
- A football game against Whitworth University on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
- A men’s soccer game against Pacific at noon on Sunday
Got questions? Contact Mckenna Tillotson at mtillotson@georgefox.edu.

Author Gabe Lyons is on campus tonight (Friday) to present a free lecture, “Faithfulness in the Age of Distraction,†at 7:30 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium. Lyons is coauthor of Good Faith (2016) and unChristian (2007) and the author of The Next Christians (2010), a manifesto for how Christians can faithfully lead in a changing culture.
Lyons’ talk will pierce through your scattered, frantic day-to-day – the too-tight schedules, the looming deadlines, the constant technological buzz – everything that has become a barrier to our relationship with God and others. You’ll come away with new tools and a refreshed perspective on what it takes to live out the gospel in our modern world.
Chapel credit is available to students who attend! To learn more, visit this page.
