I am a seminary student, pursuing my Master of Arts in Leadership & Culture, and I receive academic accommodations from the Disability & Accessibility Services department to support me as an Autistic-ADHD student.
I’m looking for other students who receive accommodations like me (or those who decided not to request accommodations) who would be willing to chat with me and tell me a little about your experience at the seminary (or at George Fox in general). I’m working on a project for a class where I’m being asked to gather stories from students to hear how others experience their education while having different access needs, whether officially accommodated or not.
If you would be willing to chat with me to share a little bit of your story, I would love to meet you! Please contact me directly this week, or hopefully before the end of March. Of course if you contact me after that I’d be just as happy to meet you just to say hello.
Thank you! I look forward to meeting you!

Apartheid in South Africa officially ended 30 years ago, leaving the country with questions about how to replace violence and stark injustice with a functioning democracy, inclusive of all the nation’s citizens.
South Africans turned to a new idea, utilizing truth and reconciliation commissions to expose the reality of apartheid while offering amnesty from prosecution or retaliation to those who told the truth about what they did. This approach was celebrated as a new and better way to deal with injustice and the stark social, political, and economic polarization it created.
Has it worked as hoped? Former George Fox professor Gina Johnson will help us answer that question. Come to Hoover 105 this Monday, March 18, at 6:30 p.m. to hear her presentation. The event will be video recorded.
Questions? Please reach out to Ron Mock at rmock@georgefox.edu.

What does it mean to be human? This year’s Dalton Lecture explores the question from both scientific and biblical perspectives, with an emphasis on awe. The lecture will identify shared values in both the scientific and spiritual approaches to exploring human distinctiveness.
Join us tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium for the lecture, “Stardust & Wonder,” with Dr. Praveen Sethupathy, chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Cornell University.
Dr. Sethupathy will include concepts from science and genomics that invite the audience to marvel at who we are and how it relates to our calling as image bearers of God.
The public is welcome, and admission is free. A George Fox Student Research Symposium and cookie reception will follow. Spiritual life credit is available to students who attend.
There will be an additional science lecture on pediatric cancer from Dr. Sethupathy this afternoon at 3 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium.
You can read more about the Dalton Lecture Series here.
Please reach out to Amanda Sue Harris at amandah@georgefox.edu with any questions.
