Students are invited to support their peers at this year’s Christmas Concert, scheduled Dec. 9-11 in Bauman Auditorium. Students who attend Friday night’s 7:30 p.m. performance are entitled to one free ticket.
You can select your free concert ticket online at this link. If you elect to attend one of the other performances, you may purchase tickets at the same link. There is another 7:30 p.m. performance on Saturday and a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

Paul Anderson will conduct a turning of the page session tomorrow (Friday) on Volume 1 of The Saint John’s Bible (Pentateuch). Come and “see the Word” as the biblical message comes to life in this historic illuminated Bible.

Did you receive the FoxAlert on Thursday, Oct. 20, about the Great Oregon Shake Out earthquake drill at 10:18 that morning? If not, that means you aren’t signed up for our Emergency Notification System, FoxAlert. Here are the instructions below for how to get your cell phone signed up.
Instructions to sign up for FoxAlert:
- Log in to your MyGFU account
- Click on “Self Service”
- Click on “Campus Personal Information”
- Click on “Phone Numbers”
- On the “Phone Type” pick list you must choose one of the cell options
- Type in your phone number and click “Preferred” to receive text alerts
- Click “Save”
This will add your phone to the text messaging on FoxAlert. If you need to add a number, click “Add a Phone Number.” Always click “Save” after each addition.
While you are on the personal information section of MyGFU, check also to make sure that your email is correct, as you will also receive an email alert.

Lisa will share from her book, The Very Good Gospel: How Everything Wrong Can Be Made Right. Shalom is what God declared. It is what the kingdom of God looks like. It is when all people have enough, and families are healed. Come hear about what we can do to bring shalom to our nations, our communities and our souls!
A university- and community-wide event will be held tonight in EHS 102 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Treats provided! Lisa will also speak in chapel tomorrow from 10:50 to 11:40 a.m. in Bauman Auditorium. Her book will be available for purchase at both events.

The Department of Physical Therapy is excited to host Dr. Ruth Chimenti, a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at the University of Iowa, on Thursday, Nov. 10 in Canyon Commons room 101. Dr. Chimenti will present a topic on theoretical implications for clinical care of chronic pain patients with Achilles tendinopathy. The title of her presentation is “Application of Neurobiological Pain Mechanisms to a Chronic Orthopaedic Injury.”
Everyone is encouraged to attend this free event, ask questions, and welcome Dr. Chimenti to the university. Light refreshments will be served from 6 to 6:30 p.m., and the presentation will take place from 6:30 to 7:30Â p.m., followed by a Q&A informal discussion time from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m.
