We are doctoral clinical psychology students at George Fox conducting a study on adversity and eating. This study involves filling out a survey, which will take approximately 20 minutes total to complete. Participants will receive a $15 Amazon gift card upon successful completion of the survey.

Are you interested in doing research or a project? The Richter Scholars program at George Fox distributes funds to support student research/project activities that are devised, initiated, and carried out by individual student researchers, with mentorship, guidance, and expertise provided by a faculty mentor.

Students, if you are interested in doing research/project next summer, connect with a faculty mentor NOW so they can help you with your proposal. The deadline for proposals is 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23.

We are bringing back Mr. Bruin. What is Mr. Bruin? It’s a pageant and competition to raise money for a local charity; this year’s charity is the Bruin Community Pantry. Do you like woodworking? Do you have a class project that needs to be built out of wood? The Maker Hub has a comprehensive wood shop (view info at this link) stocked with all the tools and equipment you need for woodworking.

Currently, our wood shop is open these hours:

• Mondays: 2 to 4:30 p.m.
• Thursdays: 4 to 6 p.m.
• Fridays: 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month, George Fox!

Attention artists and adventurers! The Arts and Crafts Club and Critical Hit Club are hosting a miniature painting event this Saturday, Oct. 7, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in Hoover 203.

Join us for an afternoon of fun as we paint tiny figurines that can be used as board game characters, collectibles, or simply a fun art activity! All materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own miniatures as well.

Are you interested in studying abroad? The Center for Study Abroad is hosting a study abroad fair today (Wednesday) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Canyon Commons.

Many of our off-campus programs will have representatives present, so come by to get information about different programs, countries, and their requirements. We will also be passing out information about the Center for Study Abroad application requirements and due dates.

There will also be a prize drawing of $500 toward a study abroad program of your choice for those who attend and participate.

George Fox IT is updating some systems used to manage password resets. Due to these changes, the next time you log in to single sign-on (login.georgefox.edu) you may be prompted to add a secondary email address and a security question. This should be a one-time process.
